The unique shape of the dune chair emerged from the impressions of desert landscapes.
I wanted to capture the constant but imperceptible motion of sand, an occurrence that is a beautiful analogy to the phenomenon of time (the shape of hourglass is referenced in the overall design).
The prototype was originally sculpted in a rough block of plywood to achieve optimal comfort and a graceful profile, hence the dune chair blurs the LINE between a sculpture and a piece of furniture – as both, it combines high level of craftsmanship with artistic freedom and imagination.
